Shape House is an alternative provision for children/young people 11-16 with SEND. Our aim is reengagement and/or reintegration, offering a consistent provision to build confidence, life skills and sense of community and to facilitate the transition process to enable the child/young person to return to the most appropriate education setting
Shape House Doncaster will deliver provision based on an outdoor and creative curriculum that promotes Good Health, Relationship Building, Community, Independence, Life skills, and awareness of the World of Work.
We have a holistic approach to learning, which puts the young person at the centre and gives them an autonomy over their learning. Our staff work in partnership with our learners, building positive relationships and celebrating achievement every step of the way. All staff are trained in a low-arousal approach to crisis management and this integrates seamlessly into our ethos, policies and practice.
The expected length of time from referral to service delivery will be dependent on the needs of the individual. We aim to work with the child/young person alongside school and family as well as any professionals that may be involved in the child/young person’s life. Shape House will have a dedicated member of staff to carry out this work. We will aim for this to be a maximum of two weeks.
Positive outcomes are at the very heart of our offer, we want every child or young person to take ownership of their journey and rediscover the joy of education.
At Shape House we believe every learner can say:
